Guest Speaker Demetia Hopkins-Greene & Assistant Governor Katie Heritage joined us at Country Cooking
At the Orange Rotary Breakfast Meeting on August 15, 2017 the guest speaker was Demetia Hopkins-Greene, native of Orange and recently appointed Artistic Director of the Orange School of Performing Arts. Mrs. Hopkins-Greene delighted the group with stories about her professional journey beginning with dancing in Orange, her education in New York at the Ailey/Fordham B.F.A School and later to her worldwide tour dancing with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. She is most excited about her new responsibilities, the abundant talent in Orange, and the upcoming dance season at the Orange School of Performing Arts where over 150 dancers are currently enrolled in various dance classes, including one for children with disabilities.

Also visiting our club meeting was Katie Heritage, newly appointed Assistant Governor (Wine Country) from Rotary District 7610. She was most complimentary of Orange Rotary’s efforts in the End Polio Now! and Rise Against Hunger national campaigns. She also contributed to discussions about the upcoming  Orange Rotary Street Fair Booth/Survival Kit project, the Rotary Youth Fund Benefit BBQ on September 23, Christmas Parade and Memorial Tree.
