Service Projects
Here is a sampling a projects, both ongoing and in the past:
  • Stage the joyous annual Orange Rotary Christmas Parade in partnership with the Town of Orange;
  • Take care of the Town of Orange’s Memorial Christmas Tree--and host an annual tree lighting ceremony in remembrance of our loved ones;
  • Assemble dental hygiene kits for the hundreds of kids receiving gift bundles from the Children's Toy Box. This in turn promotes awareness of Piedmont Regional Dental Clinic which serves low income residents;
  • Host an annual RISE AGAINST HUNGER meal packaging event at Orange County High School. 80-100 students, teachers, administrators and Rotarians spend a raucous two hours together packing 10,000 meals that go to hunger-stricken areas throughout the world; 
  • Support BOY SCOUT TROOP 14;
  • Provide scholarships to Orange County High School graduating seniors;
  • Helped fund the purchase of solar panels to power Orange County Public Schools' STEM bus. The mobile classroom brings the sciences to neighborhoods and schools;
  • Established the QUEST club for incoming freshman and older students who were seeking additional mentoring support to make the most of their high school experience; 
  • Installed Little Free Library book exchange boxes at Orange County elementary and middle schools;
  • Underwrote the provision of free books for kindergarten and first grade summer reading programs [PAWS for Reading];
  • And, individually, serve as board members, volunteers, and boosters for the benefit of the County’s senior citizens, families in need, and our kids.
