Donna Waugh-Robinson visited the Rotary Club on Wednesday, Sept 17 to bring us up-to-date with current activities and provided us with some interesting history about the Children's Toy Box program in Orange County.

The PAWS for Reading project is awarded a $2,500 grant from The Rotary Foundation
The PAWS for Reading project received $2,500 grant from The Rotary Foundation (TRF). While TRF is funded by Rotarians, clubs must complete detailed grant applications to be considered to receive the funds. Orange Rotarians Bill Hepler and David Laylin kicked off the summer phase by reading the first book to the students and giving each child a book to own and take home, along with a postcard to return as soon as the child finishes the book, which will begin the process of receiving additional books, up to 8 over the summer.

Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services (RRCS) offers Aging Services, meals, transportation, and, most importantly, a lifeline to community for seniors (60+) in Orange, Madison, Culpeper, Fauquier, and Rappahannock counties in the Piedmont.

Citizens accused of a crime are entitled to a lawyer, regardless of their ability to pay. This is not true in civil cases, Jackie Schlesinger, Development Director, told Orange Rotarians. Enter Rappahannock Legal Services (RLS), a 43-year old non-profit agency that provides free aid to low-income residents dealing with civil suits.
